Wowsers. Such an amazing episode. This episode had SO MUCH heart that has been lacking in some of the episodes this season, it was so emotional.
I loved all the throwbacks; the mirroring of Troy entering the field compared to 6x24 when Nathan was a Bob Cat for the first time, the way Nathan imitated Bobby's words. Madison and Jamie mirroring Haley and Lucas was also so cute.
I really really like the character of Erin, there's something very honest about her.
Nathan and Clay between help to fill the void of Lucas because they just embody him and his principles at the moment.
Loved the throwback to Peyton and the water balloons. And I really did feel for Brooke by the end. I actually really liked the fact that while others where all like 'life is good, we're worried but we're okay' Brooke was honest enough to say that she still couldn't deal with it.
Amazing episode. What did you guys think?

I can't help but feel like they've been trying too hard this season to foreshadow the return to Leyton and it's actually starting to annoy me to the point where I don't even look forward to the show anymore.
Last season was amazing, very few Leyton mentions, they just focussed on the new characters meshing with the old and got on with it. This season has been a bit like horrid fan fiction a little bit. When generations to come ask 'when did One tree Hill jump the shark?' I'm going to tell them the honest truth: When clay had an out-of-body near-death experience with his future organ donor. Then it jumped back over when mannequin Lucas appeared.
Sorry, I'm just.. yeah. They took my favourite show, one of the best-written on TV, and apparently decided to replace all those wonderful writers with idiots. Either than or they've been abducted and replaced by aliens and nobody has noticed yet.
I actually don't even want Leyton back at this point.

It hasn't been consistently the way you describe for me to feel to feel the same way. At moments I've felt it but not all the time.
And I disagree about it being good there were very few mentions of Leyton in season 7. They tried far too hard not to mention them before that it was just stupid.
With episodes like the one this thread if for, I think that your last comment is a bit over the top and I can't agree.

This probably doesn't make any sense but I agree with both of you lol...last season when they didn't mention leyton at all I wanted them to. This season...it's like they keep bringing up luke and peyton just in case we have forgotten them (like that would ever be possible). They will be back...we get it! With that being said there are some mentions that I have enjoyed. Like Brooke throwing the water balloons off the roof. My favorite moment of the episode though was the conversation between Brooke and Julian about happiness. It was so right on and it just really made me think about things in my life. How cute is Jamie with his braces!?
