Well, IIRC Meredith Monroe was asked only a week or so in advance to come shoot the DC Series finale, and it ended up being only on the DVD release. Maybe OTH can do something like that?

I'm sure fans would be happy with anything like that!

lol, I'd be happy with Mark just writing a script that had them all together. Even if I didn't get to see it, just to know that's how Mark wanted it to end would be enough!

Also, I hate how skillz and mouth have been around since the beginning yet they still get treated like second string to other new characters. Agreed. When Leyton left, the obvious thing to do was to promote Mouth, Millie, Skills and Julian to main cast... Though I'm actually becoming a Quay shipper a little...

Yes that is what they should have done. I am on board with mouth/millie and brooke/julian....quay I don't know...I just feel that the two actors who play those characters are not quite up to par on their acting abilities...

I don't know, I like both of them. I almost feel like, had they been introduced in season six so they weren't so obviously replacements for Leyton, I'd prefer them to Leyton, too.

For me it's always about Naley! Best couple of the show hands down...I enjoyed Lucas with both Brooke and Peyton so I wasn't too heart broken when Leyton left the show.

Ugh, I never really liked Nathan and Haley together.
Post Season 5, it seems like Jamie is the only thing keeping them together.

The trouble the show has had of late is that, without Peyton, Brooke has no reason to hang around with Nathan or Haley. And now Mouth has gone they don't have a close friend in common to even put them in the same room organically. If I were being uber-critical as a writer, I'd say that was poor planning and writing from the start. They were prepared to make Leyton the stars on the show but in teen drama, when you do that, they always end up leaving... and you need to have a contingency for that. Mark didn't, unfortunately. He let the show hinge on two irreplaceable characters and when you loose the hinge, the door falls off.

I do like the Naley relationship. I really love Nathan so that's a huge part of that. Haley goes a bit up and down for me but they have some great moments.
As for Brooke not having any reason to see them, not sure I agree. I mean her and Nathan must have been friends for quite a long time, I get that impression anyway considering they were part of that group before Lucas and Haley moved in. And Brooke is Haley's best girl friend - which on a side note always kind of annoyed me. Haley and Peyton had a great friendship in the first season and I know Peyton was cold towards Haley upon her return but I always wished it was those two who had the strong relationship. Although Peyton already had Brooke....
I guess it's kind of similar to season five this season. A reminder that when people grow up, things change. They're all dealing with huge adult problems and meeting up together is bound to take a back seat?

They're all dealing with huge adult problems and meeting up together is bound to take a back seat? You made some excellent points. Funny you mentioned Brooke and Nathan because I always love when those two have moments and scenes together. They are few and far between but always good. Like when Brooke helps Nathan with the capes or when Nate would come over and check on her when she was having a hard time. They are really similar characters...the two that changed the most (for the better). Also I agree how at some point the core female friendship became more about Brooke and Haley than Brooke and Peyton. I think now that the characters are adults it's harder for the writers to find reasons to get everyone together. In high school there could always be some party and that was believeable. But in adult lives we tend to get caught up in our own stuff and sometimes that makes it more difficult to see friends as often.

So just watched 7x15 "Don't You Forget About Me"
Wow. OTH's tribute to John Hughes and I can't imagine that any show would've done it better. Jamie in Home Alone, Naley in Sixteen Candles, with Quay, Bruilian, Mouth and A-Squared picking up the slack in Pretty In Pink, Weird Science, Ferris Bueller, etc.
Tremendous stuff and an incredible tribute to a man who is actually my hero. He's the reason I became a writer/director. I almost want to write to Mark Schwan to thank him...

One of the best episodes of the season. It was very well done. I loved how Mark managed to create stories that payed tribute to John Hughes yet still advanced the OTH plot lines that were already in place. Very talented.
