I was wondering what everyone thought of how the show ended? Me? Well, I cried my eyes out. It was so sad. Yet, it seems fitting that Jen would be killed off. After all, she was always the "tragic" character, the one that never felt like she fit in. Her life cards were dealt badly, that's for sure (excuse the bad analogy). I loved Jack's speech about Jen being his soul-mate. How sweet! I absolutely love him. I was also happy with how everyone "ended-up", career-wise. Of course Andie became a doctor! I'm not surprised. Thank GOD Pacey went back to cooking. Joey as an edior: perfect. Jacks as teacher; totally believable. Dawson, of course he has his own show, The Creek! Ha. I love it. (Note: that girl that was cast as Joey? She doesn't look at all like Katie! Oh well.) AND the best part: Pacey and Joey!!!!!...back in business! I knew they'd end up together. I just knew it. *claps hands in delight* They were always my favorite 'ship on the show...(except Jack/Jen of course In Eddie's defense: I did like him. I tried to give him a chance...but he left Joey because she didn't want to go to Europe with him!? Lame. All and all, I was happy with the end. I was surprised though, that Jen had a baby (with CJ, right?). That seemed kind of random. It did, though, seem OOC for CJ to leave her to raise the baby alone. He seemed like he was shaping up to be an alright guy.

No, it wasn't with CJ. It was just with some random guy lol.

I did really enjoy the finale, although I haven't seen it for a while. Jen's speech in her video is absolutely beautiful and just SO..Jen! I adore Jack in this episode too, although I still find the fact he is in a relationship with Doug kinda ridiculous. At times it was cute but I remember my jaw dropping when you first realise. I think it's because I never liked Doug and I just don't see him really connecting with Jack. I miss Toby. He was awesome. I didn't really mind about Joey and Pacey. I didn't want her to end up with either of them really and considering my 'ship is Joey/Eddie I was indifferent to the final outcome. I got kinda annoyed with what happened with Eddie's character actually. I think it was totally lame how it was handled and quite OOC (by that time anyway, might have been different early on) and that they just needed to get him out of the way. A part of wishes that they (the writers) had had the strength to not have her ending up with one of them but it was inevitable I guess. It's SO cheesy but I loved the fact Dawson and Joey had the same car!

I was depressed that Jen was killed off, but the way it was done was beautiful - the video speech, the visit from Andie, etc.
And I'm ecstatic that Joey ended up with Pacey!

No, it wasn't with CJ. It was just with some random guy lol. Ah, ok. That makes more sense. Thanks for that clarification. I agree. I felt it was totally OOC for Eddie to leave her like that (again!) with just a note. Lame. I was kinda hoping that, while she was in Paris anyway, that she'd run into him anyway! That would have been funny. True, though, about the writers needing him out of the way. Let's face it, they wouldn't have ended the show with her getting with someone other than the two main guys. That was the whole thing - the eternal and never-ending love triangle. I wonder how Dawson felt about Joey's choice to be with Pacey in the end? And how funny was it that it took that stupid show of Dawson's for Joey to realize who she was supposed to be with!? Ah, my little Joey. I do love her so.

I thought it was kinda ironic how she ended up with who she did.
It took us a few seasons to find out who we wanted her to be with, and it took her a few seasons (Dawson's show was on the air a while by the last scene of the finale, right?) to find out who she needed to be with.
That makes no sense lol.

I actually just finished watching the finale episode for the first time, and I will tell you this, that it was way beyond emotional for me. Jen's death made me sad and well (OK, I cried for some part ), it was so sad cause it reminds me of my best friend who died last year. Jen's speech was perfect in her video for her kid, Jack's speech to Jen about, how he is her Soul mates, and Joey and Dawson's soul mate scenario too. But I was sad that they didn't show Jen's funeral.. Either ways, it was the best finale I've ever seen. Oh, and Andie is just gorgeous

I actually can't watch the finale. I've seen it, of course, but just once and, err, never again. Just too emotional for me. I grew up with the show, the characters were almost family to me in many ways, so seeing Jen die was totally heartbreaking.

Against Kandiman's advice ( ) I watched this again last night and I had honestly forgotten how sad it was. I cried a lot...again. I hate it when Jen lashes out when she's alone with Pacey. It's not even that she gets that aggressive but when she just sits there and says 'I'm so angry' it's awful. In response to what Becky said in the OP, about the girl not looking like Joey, I actually thought she did. When they were kissing in the final scene of The Creek I was like 'did I miss that having Joey in it as a flashback type thing the first time round?' lol I love the video of them when they were younger and how Dawson turns round and sees Jen arriving again. So sweet. But after Jen has said 'Abby Morgan' and no one says anything she goes 'Is that not funny yet?' Ha, that had me in stitches. Oh and I said this to Daniel last night (and he disagreed) but Lindsey from OTH S5 reminds me of a prettier Andy...lol

And hey, I never said that Lindsey wasn't pretty... just that Andie is prettier

All the parts with Jen got me so bad I couldnt control myself from crying. When she lashes out and when she did die and grams said I'll see you soon.
The Abby Part was a funny line
I loved how they showed all those old clips and at the end. I loved the part where Dawson sees Jen again coming out of the car. I think that was a well done series finale. Even the last line was good with Dawson finally getting his dream and Joey and Pacey finally being together.

A lot of fans on other boards tend to say how bad this finale was but hands down it's the best finale ever to me. I love when they are all in the bar remembering all their adventures. I agree it's SO emotional and sad! MW is amazing though...you could tell even then that her talent as an actress is beyond words. All the Jack/Jen stuff in the hospital is so bittersweet. I think one of my favorite lines is when Dawson, Pacey, and Joey are in the car together and Joey's "boyfriend" calls and then Dawson says "and the triangle becomes a square" lol. Of course I was satisfied with the end...I was shocked in the best way possible because I was SO SURE that Dawson/Joey would end up together. Also- I actually like Jack and Doug and I thought the writers gave us a great payoff after all the years of Pacey's gay jokes.

Yeah, Michelle Williams was/is definitely the best actor to come from DC.
