I have now watched the entire series, all five seasons. I love this show so much! For me, Dawson's Creek has always been my number one teen drama. I really connected with that series. I now have to say that Friday Night Lights is right up there with it! Maybe even slightly above (that was so hard for me to type!)
I love the Taylors...more so than the Leerys...their love never waivered. Sure they had their ups and downs but they always had each others backs. I liked the ending...as Tami put it, it was "her turn" and I was so happy that Eric was able to realize that.
Tim Riggins was/is my favorite character of the show. He has SO much heart and he is SO loyal. He is a man of few words but when he has something to say it's always meaningful. He often got mixed up along the way and made mistakes but he always had the best intentions. I love any scenes with him and Billy and really enjoyed Billy and Mindys character developments in the later seasons. I understand why Tim took the fall for the chop shop but there is a part of me that wasn't a fan of that storyline particularly because it changed his character. He was different when he got out...not the same Riggins.
Landry was also a favorite of mine. So sweet and adorable. His and Tyra's relationship remained one of my favorites of the show.
I was a little resistant to the new characters introduced in season 4 (Vince, Jess, Luke, and Becky) but they won me over. I think Becky was my favorite...I absolutely loved the "family" dynamic between her and the Riggins clan and Luke was so sweet with her!
I was of course very happy that Matt and Julie ended up together. I was glad that they brought Tyra back because ever since season 3 ended we never really heard what happened to her...we got some closure with Jason, Lyla, Landry and even Matt but she just kind of disappeared. The thing I did not like about Tyra's storyline in the last 2 episodes was that all her scenes and story was with Riggins and I hated them together as a couple! They were so toxic together! Also was very disappointed that Landry had one small scene in the last episode and they couldn't find any time to get even one scene with him and Tyra. I know there was a lot going on and they were trying to wrap up the storylines of the season but still!!!
Anyways those are my thoughts on the show! So glad I watched it!

Melbell how have you been? I am so glad you finished the series I did as well I think the final episode aired like last week or the week before.
I am so glad you also loved the series. I am with you Dawson's Creek to me was amazing but Friday Night Lights may be my favorite show ever. I just connected it with it as well and it seriously touches my heart it is so real.
I got emotional when she said that I was worried for a little while but I like you am glad he realized it when he was like just say you will take me with you. The Taylor's are so amazing they are a real family and it is so weird to me that they aren't married in real life they seem that real.
Riggins is amazing. He was my favorite well I think Matt will always be my number one. I agree so much. I didn't like that he went to jail but I also think it changed him but in the end he was back to "Texas forever" Riggins. I like how it played out with him and Billy because Billy himself tried his best in raising him and overall I am glad Tim let Billy be there for his child. I was mad yet in the end it was all okay.
Landry what to say about Landry he is just Landry. Sweet and adorable is right. I love when he would say stuff to Matt and Matt was like Landry you aren't my girlfriend and he would give him a look they had a good friendship.
Same here at first I was like how can the show be without Tyra and Matt? Since Riggins and Landry were still around. Overall the characters stole my heart as well. I loved Becky! At first I liked Becky/Riggins but mainly because of how he was there for her. I love her and Luke when he was like "I'm coming for you" aw just describes that.
What did you think of Vince? To me he had a lot of similarities with Smash except he didn't know how good he was. His story-line with his mom always got me and when his dad came back I had my guard up. I always smile when I think of when Vince said "where you wanna live mom?" Him and Jess were also nice they weren't my favorite but they were good for each other.
I was so happy Matt/Julie were always and probably will always be my number one for that show. I would have been crushed if they didn't end well.
I agree it was kind of about Riggins. I never hated them together but they weren't together long were they? It always just seems for the first few episodes. I will say though the fact that they both grew so much and how they were together in those last scenes made me like the idea of them maybe ending up together. It was kind of like things came full circle.
I wanted a Tyra/Landry scene. I will always love them because of how he helped her and they were very good together.
What did you think of Matt/Grandma? I love them to death. I was afraid something might happen to her I was a nervous wreck thinking about it lol. When Julie drove by the house and was just sitting in front of it makes me get teary eyed.
I am so glad you watched this as well. I am glad you also loved it as much as you did. "Clear eyes, full hearts, can't loose" lol I could not resist I am thinking of getting that along with Texas Forever as a tattoo.

I actually haven't finished season five yet, I've been hella busy. Must plough on through.
I still haven't got my FNL tat due to lack of funds. Show's how affecting this show has become though, doesn't it? I mean, nobody ever talked about getting a Dawson's, OC or GG tattoo!
Still... Clear eyes, full heart, can't lose.

Did everyone hear about the emmy nominations? Also some people on youtube said there might be a movie. I heard about the Emmys. They're like my Oscars. I intend to win one of my own in the next two years. There already was a movie based on the original book, which is incredible. Sports movies should not make grown-ass men cry, but that one destroyed me and almost every guy around me. I don't see them making one with the series' cast. The fan base isn't big enough and there aren't many stories left to tell.

Connie and Kyle are so deserving of the nomination and the win! Their characters were the glue of the show.

Connie and Kyle are so deserving of the nomination and the win! Their characters were the glue of the show. They're up against very stiff competition in their categories. Kyle is up against Steve Buscemi, Jon Hamm, Hugh Laurie and Michael C. Hall. Connie is against Julianna Marguilles, Mireille Enos, Kathy Bates - who has an Oscar - and Elisabeth Moss. Every one of their competitors, Mirielle Enos aside, has an award of some kind to their credit. I'd like to think they could win it, I'd love it if they did, but I think the Actor award will go to Hamm, Laurie or Buscemi while Actress will most likely go to Elisabeth Moss.
