So I got all the DVDs for my birthday and currently on my rewatch and I've just started season two and I have two things I had to share: 1) Haley's parents are AWESOME! 2) I love Andy. That is all for now.

Haley's parents were definitely a little too short-lived as characters for my liking. Even now, it bothers me that we never see them. I mean, they missed Jamie's birthday, haven't been around to help Quinn through her divorce and didn't even appear after the shooting. What's up with that?

I agree. I mean they covered up them not being at the second Naley wedding and that was, at least relatively, plausible but now they just don't get mentioned. It's a shame.
It does seem to add to my theory that Haley began as an only child and they just threw in sister's whenever they needed it to fit the story, lol.

Well, they've been quite clear that Haley is the youngest of five, so I assume we'll see the other two sisters at some point. Or, hell, at least find out their names. Would it be so hard to believe she might call one of them every now and again, get the odd text, maybe a present for Jamie from his aunts or *shock* grandparents.

I've been reading around a few threads for this lately and thought I'd bring it here too.
This interaction between Nathan and Lucas comes in season two, I'm sure you'll all remember it:
Nathan: I think theres something in your heart your running from. You can make jokes about it all you want. You know theres a girl you have feelings for, look me in the eye. Tell me I'm wrong. See. You can be mad at me all you want, you can say your hearts fine. But till you tell this girl how you feel, your hearts gonna be flawed. You need to talk to her Luke.
And then Luke says to Anna: "But theres somebody else. She's a part of my history that came before you, and I've been lying to myself about the way I feel about her. And I need to see her tonight, because I feel like shes slipping away."
Now there's a bit of a divide in who Nathan is talking about here. I think Nathan is definitely talking about Peyton but obviously Lucas goes to see Brooke. It's not that I really have a problem with, it doesn't change the fact for me that everyone else knew where Lucas stood better than he did, lol, but does anyone else find Lucas' words a bit odd? Especially the 'history' and 'slipping away'. I guess it just went well in terms of writing keeping the audience torn between both, kind of thing.
I think it's an interesting part to discuss because it's one of those that is entirely up to interpretation. Lucas obviously felt it was Brooke but I don't think Nathan did. Thoughts? (No fighting or bashing of other people's interpretations please, no one is wrong. I'd just like to see the different thoughts about it.)

Peyton I can see where you are coming from and maybe nathan did think it was Peyton. I think Lucas loved Brooke but he was always going to love Peyton I have learned that now. Like you said he sometimes did not know what was best for him look at season 5. Nathan being Nathan probably was talking about Peyton. I dont know for sure though because that triangle went on for so long so everytime I rewatch I have so many different opinions lol. Btw Andy is amazing

I love when he comes back for the wedding and is talking to Luke while Karen visits Keith's grave and he says that even though he loves Karen he would give anything for Lucas to have Keith with him on his wedding day!...Anyway lol Don't get me wrong, I do think Lucas loved Brooke and he obviously felt at that time she was the one he wanted and I respect that. I just don't think Nathan thought that. And I know what you mean, depending on how I'm feeling, scenes translate differently to me but I think this is an interesting couple of scenes and I think we're encouraged to recognise that both Brooke and Peyton are 'there'.

I remember, didn't Brooke even seem a little surprised when he showed up? lol

If I remember correctly, when he gets there she's with Felix. But I could be wrong.
It all just seemed a little odd to me. Especially the 'slipping away' bit - that was Peyton to me, completely y'know?
I honestly have no problem that it was Brooke he went to see but it just doesn't 'fit'.

I love that moment with Andy I was like aw could he be any sweeter. It is so nice to see how he is so sincere and really loves Karen. I still think about when he first started dating Karen and he was like "Where is little Lucas?" I always laugh at that line. I see what your saying there. Sometimes I felt Lucas wanted to have his cake and eat it to lol. That is because he cared so much for both girls. They are complete opposites to. I have not watched season two in a while but in that season were Lucas and Peyton as close? I know in the end when her mom came back that is when they really started talking again. I also know that she got a lot of her great moments with Jake in season 2 so maybe she was the one slipping away. The writers are trying to confuse us because in a sense both were slipping away. Pacey I think she was surprised.

No they weren't close. That's why Luke called Jake. After 'dyke' was written on Peyton's locker Lucas goes to see her and they have an argument and Peyton basically tells him he's been a bad friend to her.
I love him for calling Jake but I'm also annoyed that he decided to do that instead of proving himself to her. He's my favourite character (along with P. Sawyer) but he can be so stupid sometimes!

Oh yeah and that was the Anna storyline like her being gay and stuff okay I completely forgot about that. Yes Lucas can be pretty stupid at times. I need to do another re-watch of this soon.
