Didn't see a thread for this season yet...anyways just started watching it again yesterday. I love re-watching and going back to seasons I haven't watched in a while. I think the pilot was so well done and I still remember watching it the first time it aired on cable and right then I was hooked and I knew it was going to be a show I wanted to watch. Right now I'm watching the ep where they go to an away game and Whitey pulls the bus over and kicks Nathan and Lucas out and they are stuck together walking back to tree hill and then Brooke hurts her ankle and takes too much pain meds and her, Haley, and Peyton end up in the car together. I like how the episode begins and you are like ok what is going on here...and then it sort of goes back and explains events leading up to it. Mark is such a genious!

Season one is awesome! Lucas is so cute in this season. There's a lot I love about this season, it's definitely quite far up my list when I rank them.

I agree the pilot was so well done. Melbell I love that episode with the boy from Little Giants Spike. Don't know if anyone has seen that. That episode was just comedy from Lucas & Nathan to Brooke, Haley & Peyton. Season one was such a strong season they got quite a bit of momentum from the beginning.

I would have loved to see Jake again. I think he is definitely one of the best characters on the show. He was so genuine and just awesome and I love his "where your head at" motif.
I wonder what he could be up to too? I'd like to think he's still doing band stuff but always doing his best by Jenny. Like with Chris Keller, I think season give would have been a great time to see Jake again. Not as a partner for Peyton (although I did like them together) but as another person who like, Max, was like 'it's like this...'
I really like the Haley/Peyton friendship in season one too.

I agree it would have been great to see some more of Jake. I loved him and Peyton but I am sure he could have accepted that her heart was with Luke. He was always that kind of guy which made him so special. Yes their friendship was pretty good in that season. Also I miss Whitey.

I miss Whitey too. That's one of the most distinct changes between the earlier and the later seasons. In the earlier ones they were kids and they turned to the adults, but later they're the adults lol
I kinda liked how in the first season you got this feeling that for people like Keith, Karen and Whitey Lucas and Co. were them version 2 if you get me. Like Karen was a cheerleader and Whitey coached Keith and Dan etc.

Yes that was the vibe. Kind of like we were there at one point and now it is your turn to experience it and take it all in. I always liked that. The face that they knew each other early on and had experienced those years together as well.

Yeah definitely. One of my favourite moments in season one is when Karen burns her cheer leading outfit. Keith and Whitey's friendship is cool too. I really can't stand Dan in this season.

Dan was so bad in this season but that was the point i think. I mean i wanted to see a good side but i didn't see him really upset until he caught deb and Keith but then he went back to his old ways. I will say one thing though when he was in the hospital early season 2 it was funny how everyone was like Dan are you okay? Because he was being so nice.

Yeah, Dan in season 1 was just pure evil.

It was okay for me (don't hate). Honestly, I watched the first four season just to see Hilary and Sophia. I like the first 3 season, but the basketball storyline, Dan, etc just don't click with me. If they make it about soccer storyline, that might get me hook hehehe

*throws things at Michael* I actually really liked that it was about basketball but I can't really say why lol I saw something on another forum actually which kind of fits in here: Who was the better basketball player: Nathan or Lucas? I think in terms of natural talent it was Lucas but Nathan worked much harder and by season two onwards Nathan was definitely the better basketball player. I think if Lucas hadn't have stopped due to his HCM he could have gone as far as Nathan. In the college episode he talks about getting a basketball scholarship but even then I'm not entirely convinced he would have gone all the way. What do you think?

I agree it is weird I watch shows like friday night lights and i am not normally a football fan but i just connect with it. Same goes for one tree hill and basketball. Overall Peyton that is a tough one but i think nathan would have been the best because Lucas had natural talent but nathan had drive in the beginning. It was always his dream it seemed and that can go into play a lot.

Season 1 is a great season for the Naley shippers. I love Season 1 Naley! One of my favorite episodes is the boy toy auction episode, was pretty funny, Haley asking Peyton to bid all her money on Nathan to keep him away from all those other girls and her face when he tore of his pants and ripped open his shirt lol
