I think it's really Haley, actually. I mean, think about it, of her and her sisters, she got to spend the least time with her mum, so now she's gone, she's got a bit of survivor guilt.

I'm kind of liking it. It's a huge character defining moment. We got to see Peyton, Nate, Brooke, and Lucas all go through some really dark times and now it's Haley's turn. We haven't ever seen anything like this with her character and it's going to be interesting to see how she comes through it. Hopefully we get to! Only thing that would really upset me if the show does get canceled is that it has had 7 seasons and it really deserves a proper wrap-up.

I agree completely i am waiting anxiously to hear the news but i am going to be so ticked off if they cancel without proper ending. James let it leak that they shot an extra just in case but i think the least chad and hilarie can do is come for a finale i mean this show did kind of start their career into overdrive.

Yeah, I agree. I think it needs some kind of definitive end and at the moment that's hanging in the balance.
While I, obviously, would love Lucas and Peyton back to give it a real 'back to where it started/full circle' feeling about it, I don't think they owe it. I can see what you mean but they gave all that they were signed up to give y'know?
As for the Haley thing, while I'm still not convinced that it's 'Haley like' I do agree that she's one of the only ones we haven't seen get really dark.

I've heard talk about her burning her piano out of rage.

^Yeah I know, that's what we're saying. It's her turn to go into the 'darkness' this season. And from what I can gather, she doesn't technically do it on purpose it's an alcohol/candle fiasco but she just sits and watches as opposed to doing anything about it. I may be wrong though

I may be wrong though Well she knocks the candle on to the piano on accident then she sits there for a minute then she pours her glass of wine on it...but she wasn't in her right mind at all!

Ah, I knew it was something like that. Thanks, mel.
I do feel really sorry for her, it seems like she's been hit really hard.

FWIW, I should drop the following knowledge (I'll compile a proper report for the news section when I get five minutes, pre-production is being a MFer at the moment):
One Tree Hill, regardless of whether the CW renews, WILL GET AN EIGHTH SEASON.
SoapNet are waiting behind to catch them if they get dropped so, I repeat, Season Eight looks to be a near-certainty at this point.

This rumor has been circulating for a while now... can SOAPNET really afford OTH?

I see what you saying to they have been on their for their time but it would be nice lol i cant bring myself to loose hope because i will just be sad if they dont but if they dont and they write it right it could be good still.

Oh, trust me, I know exactly what you mean. There is still a huge part of me that is holding out, no matter how silly it might be. I just don't want to blame Hilarie/Chad if they don't return. But at the same time, I'm trying not to get too excited about them returning. At the moment I'm really just hoping they at least get a mention. I will be so sad if it seems like the characters have just been forgotten.

This rumor has been circulating for a while now... can SOAPNET really afford OTH? Yes and no. The budget will drop a little, but they'll still be able to make it. I'd expect a trim of the cast, too. Mouth, Millie, Skills and Lauren will probably get pushed into minor recurring roles, so they'd no longer get storylines. And you may never see Dan again. Or possibly Victoria and the Alexes. But otherwise, yeah, same old Tree Hill.

Would this be a first for soapnet? I thought besides reality shows they only aired repeats of day and night time soaps?
