So I thought we'd start a thread for this season in particular as it's the one currently airing. So you can discuss the most recent episodes in here, without worrying about spoilers etc as I've highlighted the possibility in the title. And you can post any news you might have heard etc

Well, as much as they managed to bring out a tear jerker over the years, I'm going to kick the thread off by bringing up episode 7x07: "I and Love and You" - the episode about Clay and Sara's relationship that leads to her death and explains literally everything.
Is this not the most heartbreaking episode of any TV show ever? I mean, I was pretty cut up when Keith died, and the Season Six finale had me too... but Clay was a character we knew hardly anything about until this episode, and an hour later we knew everything about him, we'd grown to love him at least as much as we'd ever loved Lucas and then they managed to twist the end into that truly heartbreaking moment where we found out that he hasn't changed the record on his turntable since the day she died.
Wow. I consider myself a decent writer, but I dream of being that good. Actually, every big emotional episode seems to be written by Mark Schwan and it's safe to say he's a master of the craft. That coupled with some masterful direction by James Lafferty really brought an incredible episode to life. It's the second episode he's been in the chair for, so far, and both have been outstandingly well shot.
I'm going to go out on a limb and make a prediction that James is going to go on to become our generation's Ron Howard. A great actor who becomes an incredible director.

This season hasnt been one of my favorites i think it has lost its one tree heart like it is more like the other teen shows. The death episodes were good especially haley's mom. Also when they showed clay's past.

Anyone watch last nights epi?
The whole storyline with Clay and his dead wife and then the girl Katie who looks exactly like the wife...it's a little too much for me I think!
I loved when Skillz punched Mouth and then it dropped the curtain...Victoria was hilarious! Then when Brooke was yelling at her like she was the parent!? Great stuff!
What is up with Halie? Did she lie to Nate and she really is preggers...couldn't quite figure that one out...
Love love love the Nathan and Jamie stuff! Anytime they get the guys on guitar hero it's the best!

This season has been a major disappointment for me. I don't think its the show it once was or maybe thats just me because I'm a Lucas and Peyton fan.
I think I'm watching more out of loyalty than anything else. There has been some good episode though and I do have to agree about 7x07 very emotional episode.

I haven't been watching season seven. I intend to get to round to it at some point but I will admit I lost the enthusiasm when Lucas and Peyton left. But I do like to know what's going on so thanks for that post melbell Only thing I do have to say is that the whole Kate looking like his dead wife thing sounds a little bit too similar to the Ian Banks thing and Peyton looking like his gf who died. I said in another thread that the impression I get is that there's no bond between the original characters any more and that genuinely saddens me.

It's mainly just Brooke that's been severed off from everyone.

Also, I hate how skillz and mouth have been around since the beginning yet they still get treated like second string to other new characters. The show certainly lost a lot when Lucas and Peyton left...I hate to say it but I almost hope it doesn't get picked up for another season. OTH is turning into one of those shows that is over-staying it's welcome if you know what I mean. It was a great show but I think it has ran its course.

I was one of the first people to say I will still watch without Lucas and Peyton but I miss them. I miss the old show we don't see Dan they just jumped in with these new characters didn't give us a chance to bond with them in my opinion. If it ends all i hope is that we see Lucas and Peyton as well as whitey Dan you know all the originals. What I am most upset about is that Brooke can't have kids I want her to have a child so bad. Haley is not my favorite but it will irritate me if she is pregnant. I say this b.c why can't be happy? I was looking forward to seeing her name it after Peyton in some way.

I wouldn't worry about Brooke not being able to have kids...that is easily one of those plots the writers can simply write themselves out of.....like you know Brooke would be like Julian I'm pregnant and then it's like a medical miracle or something. At least thats what I hope happens because I want her to have kids too! You know who I wish they would bring back is Sam! I miss her sooo much! The Sam and Brooke relationship was one of my favorites that developed.

It would be nice to at least get an update on her. My Favorite thing she said was when she wrote that speech and it played during some of Quentins funeral.

I know what you mean Mel about OTH turning into a show that is over staying its welcome thats exactly how I feel. I'm now wishing it had just ended last season.
The only reason I'm still watching is because I've watched it from the very first episode so I feel like I should watch it until the end. Although if it goes another season I'm not sure I will stick with it.

I feel what you guys are saying. One Tree Hill is my favourite show, ever, and I don't want to see it end up being dumped on the pile of shows that should have known when to stop and therefore leaving the first six seasons with the stigma.
I will also be so very disappointed if Lucas and Peyton don't return for whatever happens to be the end. I want them all together like DC was. Obviously if it ends this season that's not going to happen and I don't think I'd want another lost season just to get that.

I would of course want Lucas and Peyton back for a finale as well. I'm thinking it might be kind of a long shot though...CMM seems to have a bad attitude about the show now. But it would mean so much to the fans considering we never really got much closure or explanation with those characters. Hopefully all the adult cast could come back too! I miss Karen, Deb, Whitey and of course Dan who I think is like the best tv villan in all of history!

Yeah, I really want to see a whole cast return and I want to see interaction between them all. We can hope, right? lol
I adore Whitey so I was so disappointed that there were no scenes between him and Lucas in the finale of season six.
