Any Dawson/Jen fans? I didn't like them together in season 1 and I think a lot of it was because I was rooting for Joey at that point. Also, I didn't even really like Dawson in general in the first couple of seasons. He was to self involved for my taste. In season 5 however I quite enjoy them as a couple. Losing Joey changed Dawson and for the better I think. I like how Jen helps Dawson through his father's death. A lot of fans seem to put season 5 among their least favorite of all of them but for me 5 has always been one of my favorites. The whole arc of them getting together and then breaking up is one of the most enjoyable for me.

Agreed and for much the same reasons. I didn't like Jen at all in season 1 and 2, on top of rooting for Joey and I think it was some strange fantasy related relationship back then but yes, loved them in season five. I think they could have gone the long haul.
I really like the later seasons for who they all became. In each of their own ways they all had an incredible amount of integrity, especially Jen and Dawson compared to earlier seasons.

Agree, I think they made Joey stands out in season 1 with all the unrequited love agenda. But later I enjoyed them, and Jen shouldn't die! she should ended up with Dawson. That make sense in my head.

I thought Jen and Dawson could have went the long haul also. There was a part of me that wanted them to end up together in the finale but at the same time it seemed right that if Dawson couldn't end up with Joey he be alone. At least for a while....because had they put him with someone else it would have felt like he was getting second prize and niether Dawson nor Jen would have deserved that.

This is my take on Joey and Dawson and Jen and Dawson (And kind of Pacey and Joey, I guess):
Dawson and Joey were the ultimate high school couple, and Joey/Dawson/Pacey was the ultimate high school love triangle.
So, yes, Joey and Dawson were perfect for each other -- in high school. Their relationship was very naive and "I like like him, does he like like me? Now she likes likes me, but do I like like her?" That's why Jen and Dawson didn't work out... Jen was so mature in the first season and Dawson wasn't... so in Season 5, when Dawson finally grew up, which I believe to be after his dad died, they worked well together . But since it's Dawson, he thought he needed to be with Joey, so it ended.
Eh. =/

I was rooting for joey and Dawson so I didn't care as much for Jen and Dawson. After it all though I wanted him to end up with Jen but all is good. I agree I hear a lot of hate about the later seasons I used to be one of the people to hate but over the years those seasons have grown on me. I always look forward to Dawson and Jen in the fifth season.

To be honest, I didn't liked them so much in the beginning.. I mean, I really didn't like Jen because I liked the idea of Joey and Dawson (which was really cute until I've seen what Joey and Pacey have).. and when they ended together later, I didn't liked Dawson.. well, because, he became really, really annoying. And I came to love Jen. So I can't say I hate them together (as long as he keeps his hands away from Joey) but I don't love the idea of them so much.

Why do you think Dawson became annoying later? If anything, to me, he became LESS annoying post his dad's death.

Why do you think Dawson became annoying later? If anything, to me, he became LESS annoying post his dad's death. To be honest, I don't know if I can explain it.. mostly, he became annoying for me because the whole Dawson/Joey thing became annoying. It was cute in the beginning, I actually liked it, but as the time passed, it got really stretched. She had other things beside him, but it was like all the pats led to her for him, and I really don't enjoy their "relationship" that much. I guess he annoyed me the most when he didn't told her he was seeing Natasha.
