I vaguely remember that this was shown on e4 over here in the mornings but I don't remember seeing a lot of it.
What's it like? Worth a dip into?

I've never seen it, but I've heard comparisons to it being a male Gilmore Girls, and one of the best teen drama evers. The season sets are usually on sale for like $15-20, so I'll be picking it up soon, mostly for Marcia Cross.

I heard that to one of the best teen shows. I was shocked that the dvd first season was released like 6 or something years before the second one came out. But the sells seem to be good now.

Yeah season 1 was released and the dvd sales were poor so the studio that owns the rights decided they weren't going to release the remaining 3 seasons. Fans of the show made such an uproar that they released season 2 and season 3 had a release date fairly soon.
Anyways...I never really got into Gilmore Girls so I can't compare but if you like shows that have an equal balance of storylines between the teen characters and the adult characters then you might like it. I would compare it with 7th Heaven or the new Life Unexpected show. Also a lot of people who worked on Dawson's Creek also worked on Everwood. Paul Stupin exec producer of DC is creator of Everwood. O.C. fans will recognize the actor who played Che (summer's friend in season 4) he is a series regular also Stefan from Vampire Diaries is a recurring character in season 2 of Everwood.
Anyways without giving away plot points...the show is about a New York city Doctor who out of the blue moves his teenage son to the small town of Everwood, Colorado. It's about both the father and son trying to adjust to small town life where everyone in the town knows everyone else. The show has a lot of heart. When you guys start watching it let me know what you think!

I'm guessing it should be released around the same time next year as the third season. That seems to be the pattern but lets hope it comes sooner.

I actually couldn't get into Everwood. It was a little too slow-paced for me at the beginning, so I lost interest.

YES! I freaking love Everwood! I watched it all when it was on The WB and I bought season one recently. It has always been a favorite for me.
They deal with real life issues, yet still make it entertaining.

Big Fan Love it! My mum and I love to watch Everwood and Gilmore Girls back-to-back because they have a similar...warmth about them. The locations that are used in Everwood are beautiful as well I'm an Ephram/Amy fan through and through!
