Yep, James is actually scheduled to become a full time character (as in joining the cast) if the series is renewed for a second season.

Oh that sounds great i didn't really watch the show but when i saw him on there i love when he is a meaner sarcastic character so unlike Dawson lol. Like on one tree hill he was the opposite kind of director that he wanted to be as Dawson.

I found this interview with Josh Jackson...he talks about a DC reunion (it's a couple months old 3/31/10) but I thought it was hilarious what he said about the creek... Would you ever consider doing a Dawson’s Creek reunion? [laughs] The children of Pacey? Or the love children of Pacey? You never know! How long has that show been off the air? Six years? In five or six more years you could get away with it. I could have teenage children. Would you find that interesting? We can’t do a reunion show with the original cast because we killed Michelle. So that’s off the table. [But] if they created the next generation, I would love to come back and play a broken down, fat, drunk version of Pacey. Joey left him. Her life was going places, and his restaurant failed, so he had to move back home and is working as a line order cook. [laughs] I’d like to believe that everything worked out for them because at the end of the series they left him off on such good stead. I think times got tough for Pacey after the show went off the air. The rest of the interview is mostly about his current show Fringe but here is the link for full article: www.bryanreesman.com/blog/2010/03/31/from-the-mainstream-to-the-fringe-part-two/
