Is there anyone else who pretends that this never happened?
There are so many things that I really do not like about this season. For one, how quick did Ryan get over Marissa?! I mean, okay, let him move on and stuff but it was like one episode he's smashing things up and totally despaired and then *bam* he's fine?!
Ryan and Taylor? Do not even get me started. Urgh.
And the whole storyline with Summer drove me nuts. It was like hello, we know she's changed, you do not have to go as far as making her hate shopping and go all animal rights. It made her change seem so forced, not to mention cliche!
Okay, rant over...anyone else share these feelings? lol

I have to respectfully disagree with you about S4. I know I am DEFINATELY in the minority here but I loved season 4! With the exception of season 1, 4 was my favorite! Now please don't throw things at me lol but I really enjoyed Ryan and Taylor! She brought out his sense of humor and lightened him up which is exactly what he needed after everything he had just went through. Now I do agree that he moved on a little fast but I think that was only because the writers knew it was the last season. Had the show continued there would have been more time for the Ryan and Taylor thing to happen slower.
Also I thought the Summer stuff was right on. She was grieving and sometimes that makes people act strange. She never actually hated shopping she was just trying to trick herself into it because she couldn't enjoy it without Marissa. I also loved how it was Julie, Caitlyn, Taylor, and Summer all living in the house together that was so cute!

I love being disagreed with, respectfully or not! lol so no worries there, I will not being throwing things at you! To be honest, you deserve a gold star BECAUSE as Daniel (Pacey Witter) can testify, I am extremely stubborn and I don't usually move from my stance. However, particularly with the Summer thing, you've certainly presented me with something to think about. I had actually not even thought for a second that Summer was grieving too and now that you've mentioned it, I do kind of understand it a little more. I did enjoy seeing the lighter side to Ryan but I tend not to be invested in relationships that I don't think are in for the long haul if you see what I mean.

I completely understand your feelings about the Ryan stuff. I did like him and Marissa together and I do think that what he had with Taylor could never even come close to his feelings for Marissa. I just thought he had a lot of fun with Taylor and it was nice to see the Ryan Atwood sense of humor. The thing that always got on my nerves when it came to Marissa was how he always had to save her and by season 4 it was nice to have a break from all of that.

Yeah, I've picked up on that feeling a lot from people in the past. I quite like the 'saving' thing cos of it's similarities to Lucas/Peyton but that was a lot more balanced and they had a lot more fun together when they were 'together' than Ryan and Marissa did. I think it's a shame that we didn't get to see an awful lot of them being together in season three when they had matured a little bit.
One thing I did really like about season 4 was the opening and the way in which they portrayed Ryan dealing with her death. I think it was incredibly sad that he never went to the funeral and he had to live with not ever being able to have closure. But then maybe he didn't want to feel something so final?

The writers did handle it well I thought. I found him not going to her funeral to be a somewhat normal reaction for certain types of people. I could certainly relate from my own personal experience...Ryan, Julie, Caitlyn and Summers reactions were all so human and real to me.

I don't think anyone can ever compare to Marisa for him, but I did like Taylor she did bring out the lightheartedness to him. If he wasn't with Marisa I thought Taylor was a good fit especially adult wise.
Yes Lucas saved Peyton quite a bit to but they did have a lot of fun moments. I thought Ryan and Marisa did but not as many.

I definitely like Ssn 4 too! though I missed Marissa a lot, but the ending was very well done.

Me! Never happened! Summer became.. I couldn't stand her anymore. Ok, I could, but she became totally lame. Ryan was depressed before, but now his depression was boring. I think it would be different if Marissa never died. I liked Taylor. She was quirky!
