I picked up the box set a couple weeks ago. Just finished watching season 9 all the way through. I had missed the last handful of episodes leading up to the finale. I loved the Chase/Chris bromance. Also the sequence with Dan, Chris, and Julian leading up to Nathans rescue was hilarious! I had missed the episode with CMM/Lucas when it originally aired. Like everyone else said season 9 was great and Mark and the actors were on top of their game. With that being said, I felt like Lucas' return was pointless. It was just a bunch of scenes with him trying to reassure Haley. It didn't make me feel nostalgic or anything really.
There were some really good extras on the dvd. The commentary on the series finale episode was nice. Bethany Joy talks about how she took the Julius Ceasar book as her prop to keep. (She gave that book to Lucas in the pilot episode) Then she says how she ran into Chad a few months later and she was telling him how she got to keep the book and he was like What Julius Ceasar book?
The gag reel is cute but the best feature on the dvd is "An Evening With One Tree Hill" it's a Q&A session with the cast, Mark, and Joe. It was very sweet and sad and funny. I really enjoyed seeing the actors reflect on their characters and time on the show.

Hey Mel I got the dvd as well  I need to go ahead and do a re-watch and watch these extras. Did they include the big sendoff on their as well? The farewell to one tree hill I think. That was good.
I love the chris/chase bromance. People are so tough on them I actually think they added a lot to the final season. I think Chad just wanted to come back and they did it like that idk? It wasn't needed I agree although it was nice to see Lucas and Haley.

The farewell special that aired with the final episode was actually not on the dvd surprisingly enough.
